The Angel of the Odd and Film The Angel of the Odd are creating a repertoire built around the German expressionist silent classics - for the uninitiated, these are as far away from the hammed-up are of Hollywood at the time, as our orchestra is from melodramatic piano plunking. The maturity
and emoitonal complexity of these movies lend themselves to our treatment
- alloting the interpretation of each screen character to the intuition
of an individual soloist. This allows an instant response to on-screen
events. We can pick up subtle nuances and highlight drama... But Morgan's lush harmonies and resonant orchestrations mean we are about more than making colourful animal noises. We will introduce you to a new, intruiging and emotionally involving experience as well. You might call it reel music. We perform at unusual and atmospheric venues in London chosen to reflect the concept of each film - from lecture theatres to loony bins - and we tour with these unique pieces as well.
